From 4th to 7th October, Tuvalu’s Ambassador to the Republic of China (Taiwan) H.E. Rt. Hon. Bikenibeu Paeniu and First Secretary Loisi Seluka attended the Regional Workshop to Promote the Universalization of the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Hanoi, Viet Nam! The purpose of the event was to promote adherence to the CPPNM and support implementation of the CPPNM and its Amendment through the exchange of views and experiences of States in the region! During the workshop, Tuvalu’s representatives were able to present on Tuvalu’s experiences with nuclear weapons and non-proliferation treaties and Government considerations on the CPPNM! The Ministry thanks H.E. Rt. Hon. Paeniu and diplomats from the Tuvalu Embassy in Taiwan for their proactive attendance at this important workshop!
