Today, the Hon. Acting Prime Minister Simon Kofe farewelled H.E. Governor General Tofiga Vaevalu Falani and his delegation as they departed for London to attend the funeral service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Ministry is grateful to the Government of Australia and the Australian High Commission in Funafuti for arranging transportation for this critical event and for ensuring that H.E. Vaevalu and delegation are able to arrive in the United Kingdom to represent the Government and people of the nation. The Hon. Prime Minister Kausea Natano will join H.E. Vaevalu in London for the funeral, and the Ministry thanks its Protocol Division under the Department of Foreign Affairs for facilitating arrangements for the trip.
