Today, the Ministry’s Department of Foreign Affairs met with representatives from the Attorney General’s Office, Environment Department, Fisheries Department, Lands Department, and Waste Department to discuss a recent proposal for the dumping of ALPS nuclear treated water into territorial waters near the Pacific Ocean! Representatives discussed the serious nature of the issue and the importance of working with the Pacific Islands Forum to ensure that nuclear issues in the Pacific are treated with due care and concern! The Ministry thanks all stakeholders for their willingness to work together to investigate this matter further with other Pacific partners!
